Jake Hadley saw defeat at UFC Nashville, courtesy of Cody Durden. However, he has since revealed just how compromised he was going into the fight.
Heading into the UFC’s return to Tennessee, Hadley was riding a strong bit of momentum, having won two of his first three fights in the UFC. Originally expected to face Tagir Ulanbekov, Durden would get the call to take on “White Kong,” happily obliging on just over two weeks notice.
Jake Hadley Had A Terrible Weight Cut
In the end, the fight between Jake Hadley and Cody Durden would be a competitive one, but would see Durden get his hand raised by way of a judge’s decision. However, it appears that Hadley had a lot of issues that he was facing, coming into this contest, which hindered his ability to compete at his best.
Following the fight, Hadley took to Twitter to reveal that he had a devastating weight cut, which led to his underwhelming performance. In fact, he claims to have almost died from the stress and difficulty of this cut.
“Lost the fight few things went wrong before the fight I almost died during the weight cut I actually saw god for a second. couldn’t rehydrate like normal felt like that had a major effect on my performance because I couldn’t push like normal anyone who knows me knows I never gas,” Hadley wrote.

Without more detail on the specifics of what went wrong during the weight cut, it is difficult to understand whether or not this will be a lingering concern for the next fight Jake Hadley has. Hopefully, if he continues to struggle with the cut, he will consider making the best decisions for his health, regarding the weight class that he decides to compete in, moving forward.
