Jéssica Andrade will fill for the injured Virna Jandiroba against Tatiana Suarez at UFC Nashville on August 5th.
The UFC announced the news of Andrade vs. Suarez in a recent press release.
Jandiroba reportedly suffered an undisclosed injury during her training camp that forced her to withdraw from UFC Nashville. It’s uncertain how long she’ll be sidelined with the injury.
Andrade and Suarez will square off in a strawweight matchup on the event’s main card. Andrade returns looking to snap a two-fight losing skid after recent losses to Yan Xiaonan and Erin Blanchfield.
Andrade began 2023 with a dominant win over Lauren Murphy at UFC 283. She remains in the title pictures at strawweight and flyweight as she looks to potentially reclaim UFC gold.

Andrade will face a tough test in Suarez, who made her long-awaited UFC return in February against Montana De La Rosa. She won the fight by second-round submission after a nearly four-year absence from the Octagon.
Before her long hiatus, Suarez was considered one of the top women’s MMA prospects in the sport, with wins over Alexa Grasso and Carla Esparza. She made a name for herself after a dominant run on The Ultimate Fighter 23.
UFC Nashville is headlined by a bantamweight matchup between top contenders Cory Sandhagen and Umar Nurmagomedov.
