Michael Bisping was working commentary for UFC Vegas 73. However, when it was over, he and Marvin Vettori got into some shenanigans with Steve-O and SteveWillDoIt.
The UFC was back in action at the Apex Center over the weekend, with UFC Vegas 73. The event would deliver multiple contenders for Knockout of the Year, before capping off with Mackenzie Dern putting on a masterclass against the always crafty and durable Angela Hill.
Michael Bisping and Marvin Vettori Choke Steve-O and SteveWillDoIt
After the action concluded for the night, UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping, who was working the commentary booth, and middleweight contender Marvin Vettori, who was in attendance, stayed after for some fun. As the former middleweight champion showed in a video to his YouTube channel, this fun involved Jackass star and noted MMA fan Steve-O, as well as fellow fan and social media influencer SteveWillDoIt.
Apparently, the duet of Steves wanted to experience what it was like to be choked unconscious by a UFC fighter, with a contest to see who will be choked out first. Happy to oblige, Bisping put Steve-O to sleep, while Vettori took out SteveWillDoIt.
“Just one more time for the cameras, we’re in agreement, right? There’s no lawsuits,” Bisping joked before applying the choke.
After putting him to sleep, Bisping woke Steve-O up, who was out for a few seconds, while Vettori and SteveWillDoIt were off camera. However, there was some nervousness in the voice of Bisping, which he explained after the fact.
“You worried me, because I wasn’t sure… How old are you Steve-O? 48, I know. I’ve never put out a guy with a frail neck. I heard, like, a (cracking noise), and I was like, ‘What if I’ve broken his neck and he’s died?’ because all the disclaimers on camera don’t mean shit when I’m getting locked up. Oh my God,” laughed Bisping.
This was certainly an on-brand decision from Steve-O, who has made a career out of reckless decisions, but it was a first for SteveWillDoIt. It is good to see that Michael Bisping and Marvin Vettori could answer their requests without anyone getting hurt.
